The Elven Nations Gift Set (Dragonlance: Elven Nations Trilogy)

The Elven Nations Gift Set (Dragonlance: Elven Nations Trilogy)

Three of the classic Dragonlance tales: Firstborn, The Kinslayer Wars, and The Qualinesti are finally gathered into a gift set! These three titles chronicle the rise of the elven people, and the schism between the two nations. The books were originally published in 1991, and they have been unavailable for several years. Last year the three books were brought out again in mass-market format to the delight of the fans. Now they have been collected into one easy-to-purchase gift set.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars A bit on the DRY side
I was rather disappointed with these titles.

the fight scenes where simple and unimaginative

the characters are somewhat shallow

the ending is unclear

but as an elvish epic story it was best then most

4 Stars Another piece of the Dragon Lance puzzle
“The Elven Nations Trilogy” paints an enjoyable picture of an aspect of the Dragonlance world. The authors do a good job of filling in a gap by explaining the attitudes of the Elves, their society and relationship with other races. However, I found that the character development was thin and unsatisfying. There are characters that lack depth; making it difficult to relate to their lives and challenges. It is unfortunate that these are or should be main characters.

I agree with the other reviewer that the editing is terrible; using spell check doesn’t work with manuscripts.

Overall, I did enjoy the books even with the thin underdeveloped characters. I would recommend to anyone who is a Dragonlance enthusiast to read this trilogy.

5 Stars Such fantastic stories!
I have not found a Dragonlance book yet that I don’t like! This is a great book!

5 Stars Great But Could Be Edited
This series was awesome! I loved reading it! Only problem that made it kind of hard to read was that the editor did a HORRIBLE job! There’s about a typo on every page, if you average out the good pages with the ones with three to five mistakes. My advice is, if you’re hinking about buying it, is to see if you can get it from a different publisher. However, the story itself is wonderful, full of action, and an altogether great read.

5 Stars Elven triglogy series
These set of books are a great edition to the dragonlance series. I would definitely recommend these books to anyone who reads dragonlance and hasnt read them yet. These books take place before the first chronicals. This series develops the story of how the elven nations split and some what about the animosity that lies as a buffer between these two nations. Each book is a great story each one was hard to put down.
