Cynic bring precision to metal (Albany Times Union)

Cynic fans were once, well, cynical about ever hearing a new album. The band's debut album came out in 1993, but then it broke up. But after some European reunion concerts in 2007, Cynic recorded "Traced in Air." An intellectual "prog metal" album, it has the same jazz-influenced breaks and melodious solos that delighted, or frustrated, metal fans in the '90s.
